Why A Name is a Big Deal
When I was in kindergarten, my mother started telling people that in order to say my name, think of 'pizza'. That's where Blagica Pizza came from. I continue to laugh about that story, but I don't laugh about a large issue in a small place that is highlighted by a man from Iceland.
It is with great pleasure that I invite ALL of you to join me at the Spertus Institute on November 12 to watch a screening of 'A Name is a Name'. The film is all about people trying to defend one simple thing - their name. Told by a fella from his motorcycle, the film travels across the country of Macedonia, intersecting with people from all walks of life. Each person tells their own story. "A Name is a Name" was screened in Washington D.C. and recently, Detroit. I am excited beyond words that it's coming to Chicago on November 12. Thank you to the Spertus Institute for hosting. Tickets here. I hope to see you! Perhaps you'll get another look into what makes me tick and why I'm so passionate about being a village girl at heart.
