CondoPerks
When I purchased my condo in 2005, I quickly learned about the ways organized living worked. From developers who under estimated monthly estimates to shoddy workmanship that caused new owners to pay special assessments to pay for water damage.
I took my online marketing knowledge and started CondoPerks. The idea was simple: shop online and use a percentage of those funds to put back into your community's reserves. I self funded the project and spent a summer visiting as many condo asssociations as possible in Chicagoland.
The idea was welcomed by many, but became difficult to implement across so many properties. Though short lived, this was one of the best lessons I had when it came to what it takes to launch a startup.
